Views of the Students Learning Turkish as a Foreign Language on Distance Education during the COVID-19 Pandemic

This study examines the views of international students learning Turkish as a foreign language (TFL)through distance education during COVID-19 pandemic. The is qualitative by nature and employed case method. group consisted 31 nationals from different countries who had to take preparatory TFL courses in order qualify undergraduate at faculty Engineering Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University 2019-2020 academic year. A semi-structured interview form was used determine participating on results showed decline expected levels due technology education-related problems they experienced their process. While expressed positive aspects protection virus, recording classes which allowed repeated viewing, gaining experience, saving time; negative were lack previous experience education, feelings isolation, having trouble asking for clarification when teaching point not understood classes. More than half stated that motivation increased reported improvement all skills but speaking. opinions about online exams stating less exam stress did have go school them, also mentioned those such technical while taking high likelihood cheating. Suggestions made researcher based findings.
